
Baix Ebre
The Baix Ebre region, located in the southernmost part of Catalonia, together with Ribera d’Ebre, Terra Alta and Montsià, forms a natural region around the Ebro River known as Terres de l’Ebre. It becomes a link between Catalonia, Valencia and Aragon.
The Baix Ebre is home to two natural parks: the Natural Park of Els Ports and the Natural Park of the Ebro Delta, two places of great scenic, natural and animal wealth. The diversity of landscapes that characterizes the Terres de l’Ebre offers an enormous wealth of products, natural and cultivated, with recognitions such as the Protected Designation of Origin and the Protected Geographical Indication, are the basis of the traditional cuisine of Les Terres de l’Ebre and one of its main tourist attractions.
Although agriculture continues to be one of the most important activities in the region, the most developed sector has been the service sector. There is a large sector of the population dedicated to olive growing, rice cultivation, citrus and garden products.
